From Stitches to Smiles book by Linda Ramrath
Covid 19 has affected people in many different ways. I became very reflective about my life. I also made a resolution to write to my parents every day and call weekly. Although my dad passed in 2021, Mom is thriving and celebrated her 90th birthday for an entire month, December 2022. For her birthday, I self-published this book and gave her 6 copies to give to her friends.

I wrote about my relationships with my dad's mother, Grammie; my mom; and my sewing machine. I wrote about a superpower I discovered under the tutelage of my grandmother. I wrote about sharing that talent with the world over the past 30 years and how much easier it is today to share worldwide in a second.
I enclosed 27 photos from my personal collection of quilts along with 20 lessons I learned and 7 steps I took to share my superpower with the world.
I hope this book helps other introverts to share their talents with the world in a kind and gracious way.
I hope other people in assisted living situations will invite me to speak and share my quilts and stories as a source of new entertainment.
I hope you will enjoy my story and recall people in your life who have inspired you to shut a door in order to open a window to new opportunities.
I started a new business of giving talks to assisted living and independent living residences. This is where the "smiles" came from for my title.
I'm glad I took the time during Covid quarantine to start writing stories and finding the threads to weave this project together and gift it just in time for Mom's birthday.
Have you shared your story lately? I'm sure someone will be blessed by hearing it!
If you are and activity director at assisted living residence, give me a call to schedule a talk. Helping seniors to share their lives and honor their memories is good for everyone! My talks are interactive.
I'm not a conventional quilter. I live to stitch and story tell in a very unique way. My goal is to get the audience thinking about their lives in a very positive way.
