The Harrisville Children's Center was founded in the fall of 1972 and continues to provide quality care and education for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years old. Currently there are 46 children enrolled, coming from 14 different towns in the Monadnock Region of New Hampshire.
By bidding on the donations, the center provides music and environmental education programs, Soup days, special celebrations such as Lunar New Year and St. Nicholas Day, and organic gardening.
Children are our most precious gifts. Even if you don't have children or grandchildren of your own, please consider making a bid on one of the many items in the auction.
The table runner is from Joan Ford's pattern and Island Batik fabrics.
The framed portion of an antique table cloth has been free-motion quilted. I call this a recycled linen. Imagine the conversations that were had at the table set with this tablecloth years ago. Now this piece will set on a shelf in your home or hang on a wall in your home and hear more conversations. The original hand embroidery stitches are there from the past and the free-motion machine stitching is represented in feather stitching, a modern twist by me.
These pieces were fun to make.
