ABOUT LINDA RAMRATH

My Background

I began sewing at a very young age, inspired by my grandmother, Esther Randall. In High School I sewed a leather jacket, silk dresses with covered buttons, evening gowns and progressed from there to curtains and piped cushion covers. In 1990 I discovered Quilting. This was a whole new world of creativity for me.

I graduated from Northeastern University with a BSME 1985. I worked at Albany International Research Labs during my co-op sessions. Math and Fabric have been my buddies my entire life!

As a Mom of 2, I gave back to my community volunteering at church, at quilting guilds, and even produced “A Quilter’s Touch” tv show at www.hcattv.org. I was also on the Board of Directors of HCAT for six years.

In 2007, I started my own business, Inspired Layers. I gave trunk shows, designed patterns and taught various quilting techniques. I transformed from a traditional quilter to an art quilter. My favorite part of the process is still free- motion quilting.

I joined Toastmasters in 2007 to hone my public speaking skills. In 2016 I achieved the highest award, Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM).

This new business, Linda Ramrath Speaks is a culmination of years of studying public speaking, my faith and quilting techniques. I’ve combined my skills to entertain audiences with stories and eye-catching quilted artwork. While my personal collection is not for sale, I do sell some smaller items on my Etsy shop

(LRS SHOP).

Are you looking for someone to dazzle your residents with stories and quilted artwork? Book a meeting with me to find a date that works.
